NDMS Boy’s Basketball

Currently, the New Design Knights are playing in two leagues and have experienced success in both so far.  The first league, The Middle School basketball league (which boasts as the largest middle school league in the country with 300+ boys and girls teams) the Knights felt early success with two wins at home against P.S. 129 and P.S. 478, with those two wins the Knights were ranked 9th in New York City (All Boroughs).  Unfortunately, in the 3rd game of the season the Knights took their first loss to P.S. 218 which dropped us from the rankings.  However, the most recent win (1/15) the Knights won an intense battle against top ranked M.S. 322 with a score of 30-33.  8th grader, Jahlil Jackson has lead the way in scoring this year and performed strongly with 21 points in the win against M.S. 322.  The Knights have had strong game performances from Josh Allen, Abdoul Cherif, Darnell McGregor, Adonice Guzman, Kai Lomax and Greg Gray as well.

In the second league the Knights are involved in with Asphalt Green (which is played on Saturdays) NDMS has started the season with a 2-0 record.  A forfeit win against P.S. 149 and a dominant win against P.S. 108 (30-19) have given the Knights confidence early on in the season. The Knights are on a bye week from Asphalt Green this weekend due to the holiday but are looking to dominate in the future.

Thanks!
