Financial Literacy at NDMS with Goldman Sachs

On Friday, June 7, a group of sixth graders from New Design Middle School spent most of the day learning about financial literacy and—more importantly—connecting with Goldman Sachs volunteers who themselves have found success and fulfillment in their every day lives.

The day was a resounding success. Students learned about budgeting, credit cards, the stock market, and the various jobs that our Goldman Sachs volunteers report to each day. Many students were thrilled to learn that the role playing games they had participated in are actually REAL jobs that are available to them after they graduate college.GSDay13 GSDay12 GSDay9 GSDay8 GSDay7 GSDay1

We are thankful to Goldman Sachs and their volunteers for spending the day with us.  The energy in the room was palpable, and we are looking forward to doing it again in the not-too-distant future.
